Lifestyle & Nutritional Advice
Our chiropractic office near Nashville offers nutritional advice.
In today’s world, specialization often becomes the norm. However, Donelson Chiropractic Clinic believes that a broader approach to health actually leads to better results.
Dr. Rewan Amedi favors an integrated approach to physical wellness, with “whole body” treatment that promotes lifestyle and nutritional adjustments, meditation, relaxation, physical and mental exercise, and positive reinforcement. In addition to non-invasive and drug-free treatments, Amedi supports necessary healing from accidents or injuries through small changes in lifestyle and diet that can be life-changing.
A Coordinated Approach to Wellness
Amedi understands that life is busy and stressful. While we can’t fully emphasize the importance of regular exercise and a proper diet, we know that making big changes is challenging. In addition to helping our patients with posture and corrective exercises to promote healing, we focus on diet, regular exercise, sleep, and maintaining a positive mindset.
Our culture has become increasingly sedentary. Along with job stress, modern habits can take a toll on both physical and mental health. We see the results. A growing number of younger people are now overweight or obese. The number of people with diabetes and heart problems has grown steadily in the past couple of decades. As a society, we now consume more pills than ever before. We are, in some ways, less fit than previous generations.
Finding Better Ways to Fitness and Health
However, all of that can change. Amedi recommends a regular exercise routine of 20 to 30 minutes at least three or four times a week. A gym membership isn’t necessary. A brisk walk or modern dance moves are excellent ways to enjoy the benefits! Play a pickup basketball or touch football game, go canoeing with your family, or take up yoga to gain the benefits of both stretching and meditation.
Eat simple meals that are rich in fruit, vegetables, and fiber; include whole grains, nuts, and legumes. Reduce your reliance on coffee and sweets. Limit alcohol and soda intake. If you still smoke, quit. Bring brown bag lunches to work or school, and avoid the drive-through — your budget will thank you. Cook meals at home.
